My Seattle clients spend the winter in Palm Springs. As the home was being built they assigned me the mission of creating a home of comfort and functionality, above all. The aesthetics easily followed. We used natural tans and beiges in the tile, wall colors, stone and wool carpet, but interrupted this neutrality with punches of jewel colors rivaling the bougainvillea in the garden. The rooms are large and the floor plan quite open so we closed everything in to create a homey, softened feel with acres of linen draperies, thick warm wool area rugs and large scale comfortable furniture. Every room is inviting, luxurious and visually striking as you enter.
